Emotional Disturbances Presentation Reflection

Emotional disturbances in children can be characterized by persistent and severe emotional states that significantly impact their behavior and daily functioning. These disturbances can include anxiety, depression, mood swings, aggressive behavior, and other emotional and behavioral problems. Children who experience emotional disturbances may have difficulty regulating their emotions, communicating effectively with others, and forming healthy relationships. These disturbances can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, environmental factors, traumatic events, and developmental disabilities. It is essential for parents and caregivers to recognize the signs of emotional disturbances in children and seek professional help if necessary. Early intervention can help children manage their emotions and improve their overall well-being, allowing them to reach their full potential.

Deafness Technological Assistance Reflection

Deafness in children can significantly impact their development and ability to communicate with others. However, technological advances have provided various solutions to help deaf children overcome these challenges. One such technology is hearing aids, which amplify sound to help children hear more clearly. Cochlear implants are another option for children who are deaf, which work by stimulating the auditory nerve directly. In addition, sign language and other visual communication methods, such as speech reading and facial expressions, can also aid in communication for deaf children. With the use of these technologies, deaf children can have greater opportunities to participate in social interactions, educational settings, and everyday life. The low technology tool I prepared to assist children with their deafness consists of a set of cards that include a letter and the ASL hand sign that corresponds to each letter. This way children can practice their ASL.
